Pink lakes..the magic of nature in Al Jazir

The Sultanate has a unique diversity in its environment, which has made it a destination for tourists, explorers, adventurers and researchers interested in natural sciences. The seasonal pink lakes in the Wilayat of Al-Jazir in the Al-Wusta Governorate are among the rare attractions in the Sultanate, with their distinctive pink color, which forms a wonderful painting that enchants the hearts of those who see it.

They are pools in which salty water accumulates, which has turned pink as a result of a lack of oxygen, which causes the death of bacteria, algae and marine plankton. It represents one of the elements of the tourism attraction of camels in Oman, as it attracts tourists and explorers.

Also, These lakes are a destination for tourists and a resting point for many migratory birds, such as the bright pink flamingo and many other birds.
